You’ll need a Rare Coins Auction account to bid.  Registration is 100% free, requires basic information, and includes e-mail verification to keep the Marketplace safe and trusted.

2. Do Your Due Diligence

All auction listings on Rare Coins Auction come directly from individual sellers, so details like condition, descriptions, photos, and shipping options may vary. Bidders are encouraged to review each listing carefully, compare information, and ask questions before bidding to ensure a smooth, confident, and informed auction experience.
 

3. Review Images & Descriptions

Take time to carefully review all photos and the full description of each auction listing. If anything is unclear, contact the seller before bidding, buying now or making an offer (if available). Helpful questions might include:

• Do the photos accurately represent the item?

• Are the images of the exact item being sold?

• Is there wear, damage, or a detail not fully visible?

6. Bidding on Rare Coins Auction is Simple and Secure

Auction Listings

• Selling Format – Buyers place bids on auction listings, and the highest bidder at the close of the auction wins.

• Auction Duration – Sellers can choose a 1-day or 7-day auction timeframe.

• Optional: Make an Offer – Buyers may submit offers independently of the current bid price.

• Optional: Buy Now – Buyers can skip bidding and purchase immediately at the listed Buy Now price.

The winning bidder will incur a small marketplace fee (see tiers link below).

Marketplace Fee Refunds – The marketplace fee is refundable only if the seller does not fulfill the auction — for example, if the item is not shipped, lost in transit, or not delivered as described, and the issue cannot be resolved. If an issue comes up, please contact us.

7. Finalizing the Sale

Once the marketplace fee is paid, you’ll be connected directly with the seller. Both winning bidders and sellers receive each other’s contact information to coordinate final payment, shipping, or local pickup.

The full winning bid price is paid directly to the seller using the payment method(s) they have listed. Winning bidders are expected to complete payment within 24 hours of winning the auction.
